For Universities

For Universities

University membership was established in February 2006 in an effort to bring together the top engineering universities to share, create, and implement high quality, experientially focused short-term international programs for U.S. science and engineering universities.

IAESTE United States serves as the umbrella organization and program administrator; universities who have met the requirements are eligible to join as institutional members of IAESTE United States. University membership with IAESTE United States will run on an annual basis from August 1 – June 30. To apply for membership or to learn more about membership benefits for universities, contact us at 410.997.3069 or e-mail iaeste@aipt.org

Benefits of University Membership

University Membership Is a cost-effective and time-efficient way to provide engineering and science students more international opportunities for internships and short-term experiential programs. Together, IAESTE United States and its university and institutional members are a collective voice for internationalizing engineering education. IAESTE United States engages in dialogues with ABET, ASEE, and NAFSA to promote international engineering education opportunities for its members. Working with its university members, IAESTE United States seeks programmatic funding through NSF, FIPSE, Congress, and other resources to develop cutting-edge global leadership programming for technical students.

As a university member, your school will not only be involved in a network of like-minded top technical universities, but will be able to develop programs unique to your students needs. University members also gain:

  • The opportunity to utilize over 1,000 IAESTE United States student members as subjects in research and assessment in order to understand how international engineering programs impact engineering education and practice.
  • Access to scholarships for students participating in short-term international programs.
