Being that this is a technical organization and all that, one of the foremost ways LCs ought to communicate with members, employers, and interns is through a clear and informative Web site. Each LC MUST have a Web site; your university should be able to provide space on its server. Be clear and concise, but don't be afraid to be creative in your site. Here are some helpful hints to get you started on your way to a spiffy new LC site.
Qualities to aim for:
- User-friendly: clear and concise, not too much writing, mostly visual, easy-to-find and use navigation bars…
- Aesthetically Pleasing: lots of pictures (university, local events, LC members, current and past interns), not too cluttered

LC Web site Template
For the LC that needs a Web site quickly! The national office has created a template for an LC Web site that contains the site's basic structure and allows the LC to plug in customized text and go. The template site is small and simple, and should be able to be modified fairly quickly by a willing webmonkey. Your LC can use it as a placeholder while you build your dream site.
To get started, download the site files below and read the readme.txt file. If you have any questions about how to use the template, please contact us at iaeste@aipt.org.
