The IAESTE Placement Service Employer Offer of Training is broken down into five sections, and it is imperative that each section is filled out completely.

Follow along as you read the guidelines: download an Offer of Training form.

Employer Information: This section consists of the host employer information, and it is helpful to have two different contacts, should the principal contact not be available. The best secondary contacts include assistants to the employer or someone else who is working within the same department. In this section, the employer must also include the Dun & Bradstreet identification number. Dun & Bradstreet is the world’s leading source of commercial information and insight on businesses, with a database of more than 115 million business records.

Qualifications of Student: This is the section that is most important when it comes time to trade the offer to an international counterpart. It is the information in this section that tells us what field and level of study would be best suited, and if there is a nationality preference. Most importantly, it is here that the employer can write particular preferences or requirements that are needed in order to train within the department. If the employer is not specific here, then it is possible that a candidate that does not meet the employer's expectations could be nominated. In this section is the nomination deadline, where the employer must list the latest possible date to review the qualifications of a candidate.

Training Program Information: This section gives the logistics of the training, which is also important information when trading this offer, as international students need to be able to come in the time requested by the employer. This section asks several questions from what the intern will learn to why it is important to have hands-on training. It's imperative that this plan be filled out with as much information as possible, as this is what the consular officer will look at to decide if the internship is a good fit for a student who is applying to get his or her visa. If you, as a member of the LC, are filling this out for the employer, be sure to actually answer the questions, and not simply put "the LC will take care of orientation." It should have specific activities that the LC will plan, and what is available in the community outside of the LC.

Intern Accomodations: In this section, please try to give an accurate approximation of the cost of room and board in the area. Also, please research the local transportation options so the intern will not be faced with having to figure that out on their own. This will also be viewed by our international counterparts. Also in this section is an opportunity for employers to make a tax-deductible donation to IAESTE United States. Feel free to point this section out to your employers!

Employer Commitment Form (Host Employer Obligations and Responsibilities): This is the last page where the employer must sign that he or she agrees to all that is stated above! This page must be authorized with an original signature, however, faxed or scanned copies of a signature are acceptable as well.

Good luck, and happy job-raising!
