IAESTE United States is seeking speakers for our 2008 National Conference.  We are looking for conference sessions that will help attendees develop global skills specifically aimed at technical professions.

This year’s theme, The “I” Factor: Make It Work for You, focuses on the many qualities, experiences, and skills necessary for a successful global technical professional – many happen to be ‘i’ words, such as: international, ingenuity, interdependence, intelligence, ideas, innovation, and, of course, IAESTE.

Educational sessions should broadly relate to this theme, and would optimally relate to one of our three tracks:

1. Multiculturalism – Encompassing diversity of culture, career, or country, to name a few ideas that fall in the multiculturalism track.
2. Global Events in Science and Technology – Topics such as changes in politics that affect science and tech fields, ethical issues, and the broad topic of globalization fall into this category.
3. Career Development – Skills a professional cannot leave home without including resume writing, networking, and communication techniques.

Past topics include The Well-Rounded Engineer, Résumé Writing, Ethical issues in Engineering and Science, Globalization: Shortening the distance around the world through innovation, and An Introduction to the Culture of India.

Sessions are 60-minutes in length and will occur:
Friday, February 8, 2008 between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 9, 2008 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.

If you are interested in presenting to this dynamic group of future global technical leaders, please submit your application via mail, fax, or e-mail no later than August 1, 2007.
