Potential Start Date

Intern Placement Service

IAESTE’s placement program utilizes a network of over 80 international counterparts to locate highly qualified technical or scientific interns to meet your team’s needs.

The process

  1. Complete an Offer of Training form (.doc) or (.pdf) detailing the internship requirements to enable us to recruit for you.  The priority deadline for application is January 10.
  2. In January, IAESTE United States will exchange your position with an international office, creating a reciprocal position for a US student to train overseas.
  3. Once you have confirmed that the nominated student is a good fit, our office takes care of the visa administration, insurance and logistics.  If you are located in one of the areas supported by an IAESTE student group, you will receive additional support with airport pickup, housing and recreation for your intern.  To view a full list of participating schools, visit our Local Commitees Page.

Visa Authorization Service

If you have already identified an international student that you would like to bring to the US for training, we can assist with the required visa sponsorship.  International students may be from any country with which the United States has diplomatic relations.  IAESTE United States acts as the J-1 visa sponsor for the participant and his or her dependents and is authorized to issue the Certificate of Eligibility (DS2019), which is the document required to obtain a J-1 visa.  IAESTE United States is designated by the U.S. Department of State to sponsor science, engineering and architecture students.
